student loan volunteering

I need help finding an overseas volunteer program that isn’t as picky as the Peace Corp.?

I am mid-twenties, have the ablility to be debt free or at least suspend my student loan payments upon depature with an exception, fine physical health, I graduated college, I have worked for several years, and have alot of experience working with kids, teaching, church work, etc. Upon looking at volunteer oppurtunies, it seems you have to be quite elite for Peace Corps (which I am not, average GPA, not tons of extracurriculars, only a bit of sucky Spanish). And I don’t have several thousand dollars lying around to pay someone else to take me on as a volunteer. And yet I am willing to give up a year or two to go overseas, make a difference, do whatever. I am not freaked out by manual labor. Are there any options for me. My only request is that it not be evangelizing. The program can be through a church or religious organization, I have no problem with that, but I want to do service. Help?

If i were you, id apply for the peace corps. im about to leave, i applied about a year ago, and really all it taked is alot of patience and following up on stuff. If you have a degree, some work experience and are willing, it seems to me the big test is if u follow up on stuff. Peace corps doesnt accept everyone, but from what i know, alot of peopple drop out themselves in the application process. you dont have to know a langauge, u only have to to qualify for certain regions. start volunteering somewhere now, and apply, it cant hurt!

student loan bankruptcy

Student Loan & Bankruptcy?

Is it possible to get a student loan removed via decalring bankruptcy in the UK? I have been paying off the loan by direct debit with a payment each month. But now they have added an extra few thousand on top of what I was originally asked for in interest. I wasn’t even aware there was interest on the loan in the first place. I don’t earn anywhere near enough to pay it back with all the interest they are adding on top. I am actually worse off than if I hadn’t have gone to university in the first place…

Is there anything I can do about this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it’s student loans you’re paying off, you should NOT be paying interest. They are not allowed t do that. Are u sure its not the student overdraft they are charging you interest for? Also, you have to be earning a certain amount each year in the first place before you srat paying of your student loans, so that it was worth actually goin to uni in the first place. whatever it is, you should go and tell the bank exactly what you have said in your question, cause thats not fair on you what they’re doin…good luck!!!
