These are the terms:
* 5.6% fixed (subsidized loans)
6.8% fixed (unsubsidized loans)
* 0.25% repayment interest rate credit when payments are set up for automatic debit from a bank account
* Zero origination fees
* Zero guarantor fees
* Zero prepayment fees
*Zero payments until six months after graduation
is this loan a good deal or is the interest rate too high?

sounds good.. check with a LOCAL credit union tho.. they may be able to offer you a better rate. Also i am sure you have gotten like 100′s of spams.. dont listen to them they are all jerks..

how long does it take to get the money once u apply for a private student loan for law school?
It varies depending on the situaiton and lender. If the school on already on the approved list and you are able to get everything needed for your application to the lender quickly it can be as quick as 10 days. If the lender has to wait for the school to send in certifications it can take forever.
Work with lenders that specialize in loans for law school as that will help. Search sites like http://www.studentloanconsultants.com and apply at several to find the best rate and fees and of course speed for you.

If the bank will allow it. But I doubt it, it depends on how much you owe and how good your credit is. It would likely be set up as a signature loan,,, and not a student loan. Meaning this would be bad for you, you could not deduct the interest you pay on your taxes, you could no longer defer payments for hardship circumstances or going back to school. If they are federal loans, you could not have them forgiven if you become disabled or die. Don’t do it. It doesn’t help you any to refinance… except maybe make your interest rate higher.
