student loan kickbacks

How can I make sure that I receive my Tax return this year?

For years I have been doing my own tax with Turbo Tax. But last year my return went to a student loan I had taken out over 15 years ago. Because I didn’t finish the semester, I didn’t think that I owed that money. I find out that over the years it has grown more and more. They are wanting more then 4 times the amount of the loan. The collector wont work with me and the financial aid deportment wont work with me. What can I do? They even took the $600.00 kickback return tax payer got back last years!

Not sure why you’d think that because YOU didn’t finish the semester, the lender wasn’t entitled to the money back. But that aside, unless the lender is willing to set up a plan and get your loan out of default status, any tax refunds will go to the lender until what you owe is paid off.

I’m the Student Loan Debt Martyr

student loan legislation

Is this what Republicans mean by “fixing health-care”, passing legislation that allows House Republicans to?

block funding for student loans for Medical and Nursing students?

Shall we call this “typical Republican logic”…”How do we fix the health-care problem?”…”I know! We’ll block student loan funding for doctors and nurses! That’ll fix everything!”

Because of course, nothing’s going to bring costs down like a shortage of practitioners right?
@ andy g, so you’re saying the only people who should become doctors are the ones who can afford $120,000 tuition out of pocket? That’s completely insane. Then again, judging by your response it appears you are also.

Either insane or painfully stupid

By fixing medicare they mean putting back 500 billion in waste, fraud and abuse that was removed under Health Care Reform.
