How to get lost payment to ACS student loans resolved?
ACS student loans lost my September 2010 payment. I have sent front/back copies of the check to show that it was cashed. I’ve called and emailed repeatedly. I was told today that it could take another 30 days to “research.” I asked why it wasn’t researched already. I was told there is not a single note on my account about requesting the research. I have emails from these people telling me that the research was happening.
Everytime I call them I get an extended date for when the issue will be resolved.
Question: Has anyone else here had this issue with ACS? If you have, how long did it take to resolve and what actions did you take to get it resolved?
I’m at the point where I’m considering filing a consumer complaint with the Attorney General’s office in my state. I’m also thinking of filing in small claims court.
If you can go into the office, take your copies of the check and all the emails and talk to someone. You are most likely getting a different person each time you call and they are just looking at the recent notes not any previous ones, so they keep pushing it off. If you can only call ask for the manager, if the person wants to help, tell them politely that you will speak to the manager about the issue. Make sure you have dates and information at your hand to be able to prove that you have been in contact ACS all this time and it was not your fault.
How do i get my federal student aid direct loan audited?
I am disputing my billing history but have gotten no where with the “customer service” people on the phone. there has to be a way to get my loan audited. please, help!
To dispute any federal student loan issue, you’ll probably get the best results from the FSA Ombudsman’s office, which is sort of like the Department of Education’s version of the Better Business Bureau. You can contact them at:

Received loan check from Chase on Tuesday, cashed it at a Chase bank sense it is drawn on chase bank. Received cash and then paid off all student loan bills, now when I went to chase student loan servicing it says my loan was canceled? I am freaking out as they are closed until Monday. So I can’t get a hold of anyone at all to find out. In the meantime I am nervous as I spent the money, what happens if they try to make me pay it back for something and I cant? why would a loan be canceled? If the loan was canceled on Friday and I cashed the check on Tuesday at the banking center I am hoping the loan at least cleared the banking center, I don’t need the bank looking for me for a crime or something.. Someone please give me some advise on what is going on?
I think your best bet would be to talk to Chase. You might try looking on their website for an after hours number. They probably have one.
